Sigma Chi - Eta Sigma Chapter

On January 25, 1975, Sigma Chi at UCI was chartered and became the campus' first fraternity. Sigma Chi existed on campus as one of the most succesful fraternities for over 20 years, creating rich tradition and becoming an integral part of various campus organizations. In 1995, due to financial issues, Sigma Chi Headquarters suspended the charter of our chapter, an absence that would last a little over 5 years.

In Fall of 2002, 12 men began the process that would ultimately result in the official rechartering of Sigma Chi on February 28, 2004. Today, our brotherhood is fast becoming a prominent force on campus, integrating itself firmly as a strong supporter of the community and Greek system. We pride ourselves on striving not to become the stereotype of fraternity on campus, continually redefining what it means to be a fraternity at UCI.
